Hello Third Trimester

Well I am now 25 weeks pregnant and in my THIRD trimester!

I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is flying by. My first trimester was torture, I never thought I would live through it. I was throwing up, couldn't keep anything down, and ended up losing 11 pounds. It was summer and I did not leave my house except to go to work, I didn't even go to the beach one single time! I made it through thanks to my amazing husband and a lot of ginger ale and nabs crackers. I can't even look at a package of nabs now because I ate so many.

The second trimester was much much better. I haven't been sick, but I was having some issues with elevated blood pressure. Every time I would go in for an appointment my blood pressure was a little higher than the appointment before, which is odd for me because my BP is normally very low. I chalked it up to being stressed out at work because I was a new nurse at a new job. My husband, Adam, and I sat down and talked about the pros and cons of me working and decided that it would be more worth it for me to have a healthy pregnancy than for us to have the second income. So halfway through my second trimester, around 18 weeks, I quit my job and it was the best decision we have ever made! I have been stress free (for the most part) and just enjoying this season of life growing this little life inside me.

Here are a few pictures from the first and second trimesters:

It's been a long time coming..

WOW.

It's been almost two years since I blogged and a LOT has happened. Here's a short little timeline of what's been going on with the Cox family in the past year:

:: March 2013::

Hubs and I moved to a rental home in Youngsville, NC.

:: October 2013::

We adopted our third furbaby, a precious pitbull puppy- we call her Daphne.

:: May 2014::

I (finally) graduated nursing school and became a registered nurse!!!!!

We moved again and bought our first home in Franklinton, NC.

:: June 2014::

We found out we are pregnant with our first little blessing!

:: August 2014::

It's a girl :) :) :)

So there it is.. As you can see, our lives have been pretty busy and exciting this past year. Our lives are about to get a whole lot more exciting and we could not be more thrilled!

My Husband is my Hero

As most of you already know.. The hubby is back home in the states!!!

Long story short: He arrived in Kuwait Tuesday night our time and was thrown in a van with some not so nice looking people and dropped somewhere at a crappy temporary housing complex. While he was there for 2 short nights, The Lord shined his light so bright on Adam that he simply could not ignore it. Things were not adding up over there and he was scared for his safety. Adam kept having visions of me becoming a widow at age 21 and this was not going to do for him. He turned around after less than 48 hrs of being there and came home to me and our pups! Okay so that wasn't so short, but y'all get the idea.

Even though this is not how WE saw things working out when Adam took this job, this is what HE had planned for us all along! The Lord knew that Adam needed this experience for a lot of reasons. Adam is a changed man and we both appreciate each other and our lives here in little old Wendell NC more than ever since he got home! I am so proud of my husband and I know that it took more courage for Adam to admit that he was not where he was supposed to be and face everyone after the fact than to stay there and know it wasn't right.

Sometime The Lord whispers, and sometimes He SHOUTS! Listen to Him- he will NEVER lead you astray!!!

Well...

Only two more nights with my husband at home.

If I could describe to y'all the feeling I have right now it's like this: when I have a big exam coming up in Nursing school I always just want it to hurry up and be exam day so I can get it over with, but then another part of me wants more time so I can be better prepared. That's what this feels like, I want it to hurry up and be the day he leaves so we can get it over with, but I want more time with him. There will never be enough time in the world that I get to spend with Adam- I love that man more and more every minute.

On another note- I'm starting a new life style change when Adam leaves. Notice I didn't say diet... More on that later, but I'm going to be doing Jamie Eason's "Live Fit" 12 week program. I will keep updates on here with that when I start it because I want to be held accountable!

That's all for now..

A week from today

Ill be saying not goodbye, but see ya later to my husband, best friend, and soul mate.

Yeah, I'm going to be sad.
Yeah, I'm going to cry (try not to let him see it though).
Yeah, it's going to be rough for a while.

..but none of theses things are things that we can't overcome- this is temporary, our love is forever.

Time to spill the beans

Now that all of our close friends and family know.. And Adam has cleared all of his paperwork.. I can share the news.

Adam has been selected for a private security contracting job overseas! I can't say where or what exactly he will be doing for security purposes, but he will be gone for a whole year.

I was shocked too when I found out, but I have known this is something he wanted to do since before we were even engaged! These jobs are not easy to come by seeing as how they require special security clearance with the government, but Adam has that since he was in the Marine Corps not too long ago! This is a wonderful opportunity for him and for our family!

Of course I'm going to miss my husband, but we are strong believers and our strength will come from The Lord, the distance can only make us stronger as a couple. I truly believe this is an honorable and courageous thing my husband is doing and I stand behind him 110%!!! We've had some people disagree with our decision to go forward with this, but I want to let everyone know we made this decision as a couple and prayed diligently over it.

So there ya go! I will be (trying) to keep up with this blog to document our journey and keep everyone updated on how Adam is doing while he is gone. Thank you for your support in this new and exciting journey!

Change

Hey y'all!

I've had several different blogs over the years, but I've never really been able to keep up with one.

My husband and I were married in May of 2012 and recently have been going through a lot of changes in our life. More news on those changes later...

I have decided to keep this blog not only for my own written record of these changes, but also to keep the important friends and family in our life updated on a regular basis!

(for those of you thinking it.... NO I'm not pregnant)

Keep reading for more updates!
